Save Our Strays Inc. does not accept animals on the basis of any favoritism. Each animal is rescued on a first come, first serve basis and placed in a volunteer’s home. If all shelter homes are full, the animal is placed on a waiting list and gets a temporary home as soon as one is available. All cats are taken to the vet for an exam and tested for feline leukemia and FTV, vaccinated for distemper and rabies, dewormed and spayed or neutered. All procedures are subject to the age and general health of the cat.

If one of our cats has a physical problem, it stays in a shelter home until healthy. There is no time limit on the time in the shelter home. Our strong belief in rehabilitation means we want each and every animal to thrive and be adopted into a loving home.
